So let me tell you about me, my company and the coaching position.
My name is Clint Howard and I own a group fitness training facility in Southwest Tulsa/Jenks called Tulsa Fitness Systems. My facilty is located at 8624 S Peoria Tulsa, 74132.
It is just west of the river on 86th and Elm/Peoria and just East of Jones/Riverside airport.
My business is dedicated to helping men and women achieve their health and fitness goals through a cutting edge metabolic resistance training program.
And business is booming!
I'm looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and energetic person to start leading some of our group training sessions as well as some semi-private/small group training sessions that I am forming now.
I currently offer customized nutrition and fitness programs, group coaching sessions and nutrition counseling which educate, motivate, and support men, women, and teens to improve their health and fitness. All clients begin with an initial fitness assessment which includes: nutrition counseling, exercise program design, nutritional supplements, follow-up fitness assessments and training sessions two to three times a week here at the facility.
If you are hired for this position, after initial training, you'll begin training/coaching clients at the facility 2-3 days a week for 2-5 hours per day, Monday thru Saturday. Our current session times are:
- 5:30 AM & 6:30 AM, Monday thru Friday
- 9:00 AM Monday-Wednesday-Friday
- 6:00 PM & 7:00 PM Monday-Tuesday-Thursday
- 7:30 AM & 8:30 AM Saturday
Bottom line: you’ll get around 10 hours of coaching clients starting at $20 per hour. My facility offers a casual, fun environment, top-of-the-line training equipment and the opportunity to learn the inner-workings of one of the most successful training facilities in the country. There are also some admin duties and/or cleaning hours available if you are interested at an administative assistant rate of $10 per hour. This will give you an opportunity to learn more about the business and display your hardworking skills.
Oh yeah, I’m also very fair, respectful and appreciative. I like having fun and making money providing highly valuable fitness services and products. You will be compensated fairly, treated fairly and I will certainly look for ways to pay you more for your efforts if they warrant it. I want someone who enjoys working with people and making a difference in the lives of others… because that’s what we do in my facility.
Tasks You’ll Be Expected To Perform
* Lead our Group Metabolic Resistance Training Sessions: You'll receive coaching and training on our fitness systems, but you'll have flexibility to incorporate your training style and knowledge.
* Motivate and Encourage Clients: In order to ensure a client's success, you'll need to motivate them to complete the workout to the best of their ability to acheive their maximum results.
* Manage Schedule: You'll be responsible for managing your schedule and adhering to the sessions you are leading every week. You will be assisting me in holding each client accountable to his/her health and fitness program to ensure the best results possible.
* Coach clients through their entire program: If a client is having challenges throughout his/her program, you'll coach and motivate clients and make appropriate changes to ensure consistent progress.
* Demonstrate Proper Exercise Instruction: This is a big one. You will ensure all clients are using proper form and technique throughout the workout. I need you to be able to provide proper coaching, instruction, and motivation during the sessions. You should have a working knowledge of the human body (i.e. muscles, movements, functions, etc) and be able to apply to provide appropriate exercises for client’s goals.
* Provide Ongoing Health and Fitness Education: Our clients rely on us to service all of their health and fitness needs. It is your job as a fitness coach to provide our clients with health and fitness education on various topics that will empower them to lead healthy live's forever. You'll be provided with our educational tools and resources.
* Faciltiy Maintenance: As an Independent Contractor of Tulsa Fitness Systems, you may be responsible for general facilty maintenance/cleaning. You will also be compensated for cleaning duties on a base pay structure.
Required Skills
These are the skills you must already have in order to qualify for this position:
* Good Communication Skills: you will be talking with my clients, who are VERY important to me. You must be comfortable conversing in-person and on the phone and know how to conduct yourself professionally, and deliver clear instructions to the clients. I’ll teach you everything you need to do during a session, but I can’t teach you manners and professionalism.
* People skills and personality- you must LOVE working with people! As mentioned above you must be very comfortable working with people. This is an exciting faciltiy and you must be able to show our clients energy and excitement while working with them.
* Health and Fitness Education: You do not need previous training experience, but you should have a working knowledge of health and fitness
Bonus Skills
If you have these additional skills, your resume will go right to the top of the stack (but if you don’t have these skills, you should still apply because these are not mandatory).
* Previous fitness training experience (fitness studio, health club, in-home trainer, boot camp, etc.)
* Basic nutrition knowledge
* National Certification
* Kinesiology or Exercise Science Degree
* CPR Certified
